DAY 02KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING

The first day of your trip will start with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. On the day, you will visit one of Nepal’s most sacred religious Shiva temples, Pashupatinath. It is Kathmandu’s most visited temple of Lord Shiva. Its main attraction is the unique Shiva Linga, which displays the eight faces of Lord Shiva

Then, you will visit the holiest shrine of Buddhists and the largest stupa in the world, Bouddhatha. The stupa’s massive mandala makes it one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal and Asia. It represents the Tibetan culture in Kathmandu. In the stupa, there are giant pairs of eyes looking out from the four sides, which refer to Buddha’s eyes and the wisdom eyes. These eyes symbolize the all-seeing ability of the Buddha.

Swyambhunath Stupa, the golden spire of the 5th century, is popularly known as “The Monkey Temple.” It is an ancient religious structure atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley.

Patan Durbar Square is a medieval royal palace of the Lalitpur Malla king that consists of three different courtyards, i.e., Mulchowk, Sundari Chowk, and Keshab Narayan Chowk, which is an exquisite example of Nepalese art, culture, and architecture. The square has a huge collection of pagado-styled ancient temples; fine art and architecture carved and inscribed on wood and metal by our ancestors; statues; and idols.

The way the sunlight danced upon the snow-capped peaks created a surreal and almost magical spectacle that will leave you in awe.

Returning, en route, we will visit Bindhabasini Temple. The temple is considered the oldest temple in Pokhara and is dedicated to the goddess Bindhyabasini, a Bhagawati who is the avatar of Kali. Apart from the peace and tranquillity that can be felt in this region, the premises of the temple offer a good view of the Himalayas.

Breakfast at the hotel. Later, you will go on the excursion of

Devi’s Fall, also known as Patale Chango. This is due to the waterfall seeming to fall into Patal Lok (Hell) before it vanishes into a cave. The fall’s water reappears a few kilometres on the southern side, where it merges with a river called Phusre Khola.

Situated just across from Devi’s Fall is Gupteshwor Cave. This cave is popular for the different natural forms made from limestone deposits. The cave was discovered in the 16th century and is rumoured to be the longest cave in Nepal, with a length that exceeds 2950 meters. The cave is a combination of Devi’s fall upstream and the cave downstream.

Later, we will visit the Bat Cave- The Bat Cave (Chamero Gufa in Nepali) is a solutional cave in Pokhara, Nepal. It is known for its habitat of horseshoe bats inside the cave, over the walls and ceiling. The cave is made of limestone.
