Upon arrival at the TIA, Kathmandu, meet and greet with our office representative. Then, you will be transferred to the designated hotel. Our representative will escort you to the hotel and assist you with the check-in process. After a short briefing on the trip, the rest of the day is leisure. In the evening, you can stroll around Thamel’s local market, a tourist hub. Overnight stay at the hotel
On the second day, after having breakfast at the hotel, you will visit one of Nepal’s most sacred religious Shiva temples, Pashupatinath. It is Kathmandu’s most visited temple of Lord Shiva. Its main attraction is the unique Shiva Linga, which displays the eight faces of Lord Shiva.
Guhyeshwori Temple, near Pashupatinath Temple. It is a Shaktipeeth, where it is believed that it is the place where both the knees of the Sati Devi have fallen.
Then, visit the temple of “Sleeping Lord Vishnu” in the Bed of Naag, Jal Narayan. The temple is locally known as “Budhanilkantha/Narayanthan.”. It is considered the largest stone carving in Nepal, carved on a single block of black basalt stone.
The rest of the day is leisure. In the evening, we will discuss tours in the hotel and prepare for the trip to Kailash Mansarovar. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and Nepalgunj to Simikot (45 minutes). Simikot is the gateway to the Tibet border, Hilsa. On this 45-minute flight, you will see the marvellous peaks of far-western Nepal and the geographical beauty of the Karnali zone.
Upon arrival at Simikot, transfer to the airport for the helicopter flight to Hilsa. You and all your group members will go through the immigration formalities together, as you all will have a group visa. According to the visa rules of the Chinese government, all group members should enter and exit together. After completing the formalities, you will have a helicopter flight to Hilsa (the Nepal-China border). It is a 15-minute flight from Simikot to Hilsa. On Hilsa, you will meet your Tibetan guide. Overnight at Hilsa.
Breakfast is at the hotel, and you will have a short walk to Sher. From there, you will drive to Taklakot. Taklakot is the main trading centre for Tibetans and Nepalese, as the marketplace is buzzing with traders and travellers. You have to pass through the 3 checkpoints, where your visa and documents will be checked. Each checkpost will take around 1 hour. Overnight at Taklakot.
The day will be very auspicious, as today you will do the Mansarovar parikrama. Only after several hours of driving, you will start to get the first view of Mt. Kailash and the holy lake, Mansarovar, from Horchu Pass.
As you approach this serene and sacred lake, the historic Chhu Monastery and Rakesh Tal become visible on the northwest shore of the lake. From this vantage point, you can catch a glimpse of the majestic Mount Kailash and Manasarovar. The highest freshwater lake with a turquoise complexion, surrounded by Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandata, and Lake Rakchyas, is simply heavenly. You will drive across the Gurla La pass before reaching Lake Mansarovar.
Stop by the lake, and the abode of God will be a lifetime achievement. Puja, havana, meditation, holy baths, etc. can be done. Spend some peaceful hours on the shores of the sacred Lake Manasarovar, with the snowy massif of Gurla Mandhata (7694m) just across the lake. After completing parikrama, you will return to the western shore for the overnight. Overnight at the guesthouse.
It is another exciting day, as it is the day you will start your sacred Mt. Kailash Kora. As usual, after having breakfast, you will drive to Tarboche via Darchen. It is around a 45-minute drive from Mansarovar. We will drive to Yama Dwar, which is also called Tarboche in Tibetan. Tarboche (Yama Dwra) is the starting point of the Kailash Kora.
From Yama Dwar, we will trek to Diraphuk. Walking along the beautiful rocky cliffs and waterfalls, with some clouds in the clear blue sky, you will visit the north face of Mt. Kailash and touch the feet of Mt. Kailash (Charan Sparsh). The 18km trail to Diraphuk (4920 m) via. Tarboche takes almost 7 hours. Overnight at a guest house.
The day is the hardest yet holiest day of your pilgrimage yatra. Early in the morning, you will start your trek to Zuthulphuk (4790m), a 22km walk that will take approximately 8–10 hours. Ascending through the rugged trail and continuing your Parikarma (Kora), you will cross Dolma La pass at 5670 m. Till the Dolma La pass, the trail is inclined and full of boulders and screes. Once you reach the top, just do the holiest offering, pray, and sit down for meditation. From there, you will descend to a small glacial pool called Gaurikund and further trek along the river to Zuthulphuk Valley. By late afternoon, you will arrive at Zuthul Puk, where the great ascetic Milerappa is supposed to have performed miracles. Overnight at a local guest house or a tented camp
Breakfast, and you will start trekking from Zuthulphuk to Darchen. On the day, you will complete the Kora, trekking for around 8 km (4-5 hours) up to the point of Darchen, where our vehicle will be waiting to transfer you to Taklakot. Overnight at the guest house.
From Taklakot, you will have a 45-minute drive to Hilsa, where you will have to go through the immigration formalities and luggage check. After completing the formalities, you will be escorted to Hilsa. Crossing the suspension bridge of the Karnali River, you will enter the Nepal Territory. The helicopter flight from Hilsa will take you to Simikot. On arrival, the same way before, you will fly back to Nepalgunj to Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Breakfast at the hotel, and you will be free until departure. You will be transferred to the airport in time to board your flight for the upcoming onward trip. Reaching the airport, the trip ends with a memorable experience.
